About Me:
I was born and raised in Virginia. I have degrees in Psychology, Special Education, and Educational Human Resource Development (with an emphasis in early childhood). I've been at San Antonio College for 27 years, and have worked both as a classroom teacher for young children, project coordinator, faculty member, and now chairperson. Prior to coming to San Antonio, I worked in Virginia with young children who have special education needs. I also coordinated a center that provided assistance to preschool teachers throughout southeastern Virginia. I'm married to a guy I met in Virginia, but don't have children.

Professional Responsibilities:
I'm currenlty chairperson of the Department of Ealry Childhood Studies at San Antonio College. San Antonio College is a community college that enrolls approximatley 22,000 students. Our early childhood Associate of Applied Sciences degree is the first in Texas to be accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. I've been fortunate to teach graduate courses and present workshops internationally. Since 1990, my teaching has taken me to 12 different countries. Teaching overseas has given me experiences I never dreamed of.

Mano a Mano Project I'm working on:
This is the third Mano a Mano project...this type of program is usually funded only once, so it's very exciting to be working with a third group of teachers!
